Early Head Start serves 4,526 infants and toddlers, from birth to age 36 months, in 54 counties in Florida. EHS programs enhance children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development; assist pregnant women to access comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care; support parents' efforts to fulfill their parental roles; and help parents move toward self-sufficiency. Early Head Start grantees are required to offer at least ten percent of their enrollment to infants and toddlers with disabilities.
